About Jim Red Cloud
For nearly a decade, Jim Red Cloud has led a Pine Ridge, South Dakota, legal practice focused on trust, treaty, business, and estate planning law. Serving the needs of the Oglala Sioux Tribe (OST), the firm provides legal services that protect and conserve tribal resources and lands, in ways that are consistent with federal-level treaties and laws. Retained by the Black Hills Sioux Nation Treaty Council, Jim Red Cloud advised Council leadership in the filing of a 2012 World Court complaint regarding the U.S. government’s mistreatment of Native Americans.
Since 2005, he has also been a partner in the Badlands Outfitters as a hunting and fishing guide service in the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. With hunting trips organized during OST Parks and Recreation game seasons, tour packages are available for white tail deer, mule deer, pheasant, coyote, buffalo, and sharp-tailed grouse hunting. Active in his community, Mr. Red Cloud coordinates with the 777 Buffalo Ranch in the delivery of buffalo meat to OST members and has donated his own money to individuals without sufficient funds for electricity, food, and heating. |
